Privacy policy
The short version. ClipCatch records your screen locally on your Mac. Your recordings never leave your computer unless you choose to share them. We don't have a server that sees your video.
What ClipCatch records
The app captures the last 60 seconds of your screen (and optionally microphone input) into a rolling buffer in memory. When you press the save hotkey, that buffer is written to a video file on your local disk in the folder you selected. Nothing is uploaded.
Data we receive
- License activation. When you enter a license key, the app sends the key to Polar.sh to verify and activate it. Polar receives the key, your machine identifier, and basic activation metadata.
- Checkout. When you purchase, payment is processed by Polar.sh and their payment partners. We never see card details.
- Support email. If you email support@clipcatch.app, your email and message are received and stored in our inbox.
- Website visits. The site is hosted on Netlify, which receives standard server logs (IP address, user-agent, timestamp). We do not run any third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
What we do not collect
- We do not upload, store, or analyze your recordings.
- We do not collect telemetry from the app about what you record.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers.
Sub-processors
- Polar.sh — payments, licensing, downloads (privacy policy).
- Netlify — website hosting and DNS (privacy policy).
- ImprovMX + Google — email forwarding and the support@ mailbox.
